Racial Justice Group Meeting
Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, 26th May at 19:15 (via Zoom). All are welcome.
We are currently reading White Rage by Carol Anderson, a powerful look at how white resistance to Black progress has shaped history. Come even if you haven't finished the book; just listening is fine.
We will also be sharing ideas about what we want the RJG to focus on: training, welcoming, celebrating diverse Jewish traditions (Mimouna, Sigd, etc.), or something else. If you've been curious about the group, this is a great moment to join.
A gentle note: Our core focus is on racial justice. While this intersects with interfaith work and solidarity with Palestine, those are not our primary lens. If you're looking for those specific conversations, we can help connect you to other groups at KNL.
Tikkun Leyl Shavuot
Join Kehillah for an evening of learning, creativity, conversation, and community as we mark Tikkun Leyl Shavuot, the tradition of staying up to study on the first night of Shavuot. Rooted in the joy and seriousness of receiving Torah, Tikkun Leyl Shavuot is a chance to gather with others, wrestle with ideas, hear new perspectives, and celebrate Jewish learning in all its richness. As ever at Kehillah, the evening will be thoughtful, participatory, and welcoming, with space for curiosity, questions, and connection.
Award winning writer Nick Cassenbaum will share methods from his own creative processes for writing his Fringe First winning, sellout (!) show. Nick will share how he uses humour to find the joy in sometimes difficult subjects, to build bridges and connect communities across division. He will use these processes to guide participants in creating their own stories that focus on moments/places in their personal histories where there may be discord, tension or conflict. Using local references and rhythms, participants may reflect on their family history, or the history of their surroundings and how they have ended up where they are, and who they are today. Participants will leave having written and shared their own stories - injected with Jewish joy and playfulness - about their local area and family history.
We’ll also be joined by Tamara Micner for a text-based session exploring what the Mishne says about Shvues/Shavuot. Together, participants will read and discuss the original text alongside English translation and Yiddish translation with commentary, opening up questions about how this festival has been understood across languages, traditions, and generations. Tamara’s session will offer a chance to learn closely, think together, and encounter Shavuot through the texture of the text itself.
More sessions will be announced soon.

Biblical Hebrew Adult Education
Kehillah North London is delighted to offer a weekly Biblical Hebrew course taught by student Rabbi Shamaya Mirviss-Carvajal, beginning on Wednesday 20th January (7:30PM on Zoom) and running weekly for 3 months.
This beginner-friendly course explores the internal structure and mechanics of Biblical Hebrew, giving participants tools to engage directly with Torah and Tefilla texts.
Highlights of Jewish Literature Adult Education
Join Rabbi Leah fortnightly to learn together some of the highlight reel of our Jewish canon: stories of time travel, spiritual revelation, challenging God on the brokenness of the world, how to live justly, the big questions of life, meaning, and the universe -- in the Talmud, midrash, and aggadah. Come learn some of our most precious stories, whether Jewish literature is new to you or you're continuing your journey!
REQUIRED for conversion candidates and open to everyone else, of all backgrounds.
Shabbat Morning Service
Join us for Shabbat morning at Kehillah - a warm, inclusive service with a mix of Hebrew and English, Torah reading, discussion, and joyful singing. We meet twice a month for Shabbat morning, usually on the 1st and 3rd Shabbat, and finish with a shared Kiddush, so feel free to bring vegetarian snacks to share!
New Policy for Non-Members and Member Guests: If this will be your (or your guest’s) first time attending Kehillah, please register here. This helps us keep our services and events open, safe and welcoming for all!
Cheder
Our Cheder runs alongside the Shabbat morning service and offers a welcoming space for children aged 6 to 14 to learn about Jewish traditions, Hebrew, and values in a fun and engaging way. Part of the intention of the cheder is to prepare children for b’nai mitzvot, so we ask that participants commit to attending regularly to ensure consistency for other learners and those teaching.
Open to all members with advance sign up, and non-members can try one session before joining Kehillah formally. If you’d like your children to attend, please fill out this form.

Friday Night Services
Ease into Shabbat with us at Kehillah, a reflective, song-filled service welcoming in the weekend with candlelight, prayer, and community. Our services are followed by a relaxed Kiddush and time to connect, so feel free to bring vegetarian nibbles or something to drink to share. Don’t miss out - we only hold Friday night services once per month!
